Welcome to Part 2 of my three-part series about Wynn REVELRY by Chef's Table! While Part 1 was all about The Feast—the glam outdoor grand tasting experience going down on Saturday night—this installment covers the trio of events orbiting it: a one-night-only elevated reinvention of the buffet that started it all, a late-night VIP party experience, and a Sunday brunch to close out the weekend.
While vastly different experiences with completely different vibes, they all draw from a roster of 35 acclaimed chefs from five continents, representing 30 James Beard Award honors as well as restaurants recognized with 30 MICHELIN stars, assembled by Wynn Las Vegas and Chef's Table—i.e., the Emmy-winning Netflix series—for three days in September.
So, pace yourselves, because REVELRY Weekend is gonna be a marathon, not a sprint.
You see, back in 1946, a publicist at the El Rancho Vegas named Herb McDonald decided he was feeling a bit peckish. So, he went to the bar and pulled out some cold cuts and cheese to make himself a sandwich. As I’m sure you can imagine, the guests wandering past started eyeing his dinner with interest. So, McDonald decided to lay out a proper spread, charge folks a buck a head, make it all-you-could-eat, and keep it open late into the night. And that, more or less, is how the Las Vegas buffet was born. Not in a boardroom, or with focus groups, but because one guy couldn't eat his lunch in peace.
Fast-forward eighty years, and Wynn Las Vegas is upping the ante and charging $1,000 per person (plus fees) for the privilege. And yes, barring any context, $1,000 must seem like a whole lotta coins to drop on a buffet. So please allow me to provide some context.
THE ICONS BUFFET
The Buffet at Wynn Las Vegas
Friday, September 18 | 7 PM
Whatever images hearing (or reading) the word “buffet” might conjure of being shoved along a sea of sneeze guards by a serpentine mass of the great unwashed, please expel them from your brain immediately. This ain’t that sort of buffet.
Rather, at $1,000 a head (plus fees), The ICONS Buffet might well be the most over-the-top buffet you’re likely to experience, because for this one-night-only epicurean extravaganza, The Buffet at Wynn Las Vegas is being handed over to some of the most lauded chefs working today, with each presenting signature dishes alongside original creations made expressly for the occasion.
After being presented with Champagne upon your entrance, you'll make your way through the buffet line where the chefs will be schmoozing with you while plating your food and explaining what you're about to eat and how it’s been prepared.
Here’s Who'll Be Cooking for You:
Also on hand: Actor, producer, and co-founder of Brother's Bond Bourbon, Ian Somerhalder, who won't be cooking, but will be there pouring the award-winning American whiskey he co-founded in 2020 with his The Vampire Diaries co-star, Paul Wesley, after years of drinking bourbon together both on-screen (in character!) and off.
CLUB GOURMET
Encore Beach Club at Wynn Las Vegas
Saturday, September 19 | 11 PM–Midnight
Available only to Ultimate Off Menu Package holders [see below], Club Gourmet will bring together food, cocktails, music, and the late-night atmosphere for which Wynn Nightlife has set the bar with this decadent after-dark VIP dining takeover of Encore Beach Club at Wynn Las Vegas. And if you're planning to raise the proverbial roof, I beseech you (on behalf of Jewish mothers everywhere!) to please give your food a few minutes to digest before so doing!
Here’s Who'll Be Cooking for You:
GRAND REVELRY BRUNCH
Mizumi at Wynn Las Vegas
Sunday, September 20 | Reservations available between 10 AM – 12:30 PM
Mouthwatering omakase, live teppanyaki riffs on American classics, and tableside presentations of pastries, seasonal fruit, and desserts at Mizumi? Yes, please! And so it shall be at the Grand Revelry Brunch, where each station will be helmed by yet another acclaimed chef. Meanwhile, if by this point in the weekend you’ve managed to avoid falling into a diabetic coma, hats off to your endocrine system, with a special shout-out to your pancreas!
Here’s Who'll Be Cooking for You:
As you might have surmised, it seems that chefs Bae and Lee have decided to forego sleeping that weekend, because they’ll be cooking at the Grand Revelry Brunch on Sunday morning following the Club Gourmet activation late Saturday night. I’m exhausted just thinking about it, so I'm extending a sincere tip of the toque to both Chef Bae and Chef Lee.
Now, before I leave you, here’s a breakdown of the various packages you can purchase for Wynn REVELRY by Chef’s Table:
Chef's Table Package: Pairs The Icons Buffet with VIP entry to The Feast and the Chef + Celebrity Cook-Off. $1,500 per person plus fees.
Legends Package: Starts with the Chef’s Table Package, to which it adds the Grand Revelry Brunch as well as one of the REVELRY Revealed: Chef’s Table Experiences [see Part 3], making it the most comprehensive weekend package still available. $2,150 per person plus fees.
Ultimate Off-Menu Package: The ne plus ultra all-access tier, which includes Club Gourmet, has sold out. So, if you've already signed up for this package, mazel tov! If not, and you’re reading this with your credit card out, I regret to inform you that the proverbial ship has sailed. (There’s always next year!) $3,500 per person plus fees.
Join me here for Part 3, where I’ll be your guide on a deep dive into the REVELRY Revealed: Chef's Table Experiences, a series of nine master classes, live cooking demonstrations, and guided tastings presented across Wynn Las Vegas throughout the weekend.
