When I hear the words “haute cuisine” – images of Jewish pizza and Chinese chicken salad and wiener schnitzel with cold German potato salad start racing around my mind along, with the logo for famed Hollywood eatery Spago, and infectiously welcoming laugh of the man who made it all a reality some thirty years ago, Chef Wolfgang Puck.

Twenty years ago, Puck brought La La Land to the desert, and opened Spago Las Vegas inside the Forum Shops at Caesars, and ushered-in an age of celebrity chefs, whose marquee names became brands just as bright as those in the worlds of film and fashion, and whose faces adorn the billboards and taxi-tops formerly reserved for showroom headliners.

Now, as a way of giving back to the Las Vegas community that has been so loyal (not just welcoming the Austrian chef, but urging him to open a half dozen restaurants along the Las Vegas Strip), Chef Wolfgang Puck – alongside the talented executive chefs who run his kitchens, locally – is presenting SIP & SAVOR, on Wednesday, May 29th, here in Las Vegas.

SIP & SAVOR will present the signature cuisine, from each of the six Wolfgang Puck restaurants in Las Vegas, in a posh mix-n-mingle type affair, at Spago Las Vegas.  The gastronomy on the plates will be paired with more than a dozen of Chef Puck’s favorite wines, spirits, and beverages, graciously provided by Southern Wine and Spirits of Nevada.

Gilding the proverbial lily (‘cause that’s how we do it, ‘round these parts), I’ll be providing the musical accompaniment to the evening (in collaboration with Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group’s managing partner, David Robins); spinning a sophisticated mix of lounge, rock, and classics from Vegas’ golden age, that can only be described as tongue-in-cheek chic.

And as if that all wasn’t enough to get you there, a portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit Keep Memory Alive and the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health!

So, join Chef Wolfgang Puck, along with Chef Eric Klein (Spago), Chef Matthew Hurley (CUT), Chef Eduardo Perez (LUPO by Wolfgang Puck), Chef Scott Irestone (Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio Bar & Grill), Chef Mike Tiva (Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill), and Chef Dustin Lewandowski (Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina), for a night that is certain to be the beginning of a Las Vegas culinary tradition.
