One thing that’s put a smile on my face while warming my heart, these past months, as the country and world reel from the effects of the coronavirus, has been the way that Las Vegas’ gaming giants have really stepped up to the plate with regards to support of their employees and the communities that host their casinos; and few have done as much as Las Vegas Sands, the parent company of The Venetian Resort.

To give a brief re-cap, not only is LVS currently paying and providing full health-care benefits to each of its 10,000 or so Team Members while properties remain closed (as with the resort’s Palazzo Tower); but it’s also providing emergency pay to the employees of many of The Venetian Resort’s partner restaurants.  Furthermore, LVS has donated more than 2.5 million articles of PPE to a number of areas in need, in California, Massachusetts, New York, and, of course, Nevada; and that’s over and above the 1.900 coronavirus test kits and 20,000 protective suits donated by the company to the state of Nevada.  During the month of May, the resort’s chefs even prepared upwards of 16,000 meals (packed with hygiene supplies and daily messages of love) as part of a daily homeless outreach.

And while many might have looked at those figures and thought “We’ve done our part,” the fine folks at LVS went the other way and figured they’d extend their corporate largesse to the essential frontline “community heroes” and first responders who continue to put their lives on the line during the COVID-19 pandemic.  As such, to those first responders and frontline workers—including doctors, nurses, EMTs, firefighters, police officers, postal workers, veterinarians, teachers, truckers, grocery store employees, and more [see a complete list, HERE]—The Venetian Resort has allotted  50,000 free suite nights, to its Share the LOVE program.*  And guests can get in on the action, too!

“By providing a well-deserved break for our nation’s community heroes,
when you choose to stay at The Venetian through the
Give LOVE offer, you'll
be donating a room to someone who has selflessly given of themselves.”

George Markantonis | President and COO, The Venetian Resort

Here’s the skinny:  Guests booking a stay in one of The Venetian’s luxurious suites through the Give LOVE offer will receive a discount of 25% off their suite.  The resort will then donate a complementary suite night (up to 50,000 of ‘em!) to eligible first responders and frontline workers.  This offer is valid for stays through December 29 and must be booked by August 31.

Meanwhile, when essential community workers and first responders book a stay of two nights or more through The Venetian’s Get LOVE offer, one of those suite nights will be comped.  Additionally, they will receive a bevy of special perks (received at check-in) including discounts at resort restaurants, retail outlets, and other attractions.

“The Share the LOVE program adds another element to a Las Vegas getaway, by providing a well-deserved break for our nation’s community heroes,” said George Markantonis, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Venetian Resort. “When you choose to stay at The Venetian through the Give LOVE offer, you will be donating a room to someone who has selflessly given of themselves. As we open our doors, we are honoring the people that have carried us through this tremendous time.”
