Toks Daniel – Britain’s Baron of Bedazzling, whose crystal- and diamond-studded work is collected and admired across the globe – has designed what is thought to be the world’s most precious yarmulke (or a kippah, for the younger generation).  Featuring a 2-carat (D-Flawless) diamond, centered in more than 3,500 Swarovski crystals, the $167,000 skullcap can be yours, just in time for Passover.

Attracted to Judaism since an early age, Toks Daniel’s first religious piece is a manifestation of his enchantment with the religion.  Explains the artist, “Whilst I was a youngster in Nigeria, Jews had a rather exotic image.  The more I have since been exposed to Jews and Judaism, the more I have become enamoured with its rituals, principles, and aesthetics.”

Two weeks elapsed between conception and creation, wherein each of the crystals was applied to a predetermined position.  The diamond - from Russia’s Mir Mine - was supplied by jeweler Robert Goodman; who’s been producing his creations in Hatton Garden (the heart of London’s jewelry district) for decades.

When purchased, a $1,330 donation will be made to Chabad Lubavitch of Nigeria; an organization that provides for the spiritual welfare of Nigeria’s Jewish community, and promotes understanding, diversity, and respect.

As I mentioned, earlier; the world’s most precious yarmulke is available to purchase from VeryFirstTo, for $167,000; however, should you opt for a version that’s not centered by a 2 carat D-Flawless diamond solitaire, the cost drops to $9,300 (making them ideal for virtually any Secret Santa situation).  Also, these prices do not include delivery, outside of the UK.

Being billed by as both a “spectacular item of headwear” and a “scintillating work of art,” by VeryFirstTo founder, Marcel Knobil; it’s a veritable Festival of Lights for your pate (though, it’s worth noting that Knobil “…can’t guarantee that it enhances the likelihood of one’s prayers being answered.”)

So, join collectors including Leona Lewis, Jermaine Jackson, Jourdan Dunn, Sean Paul, and Cristiano Ronaldo (whose Toks Daniel-designed boot is on permanent display, at Ronaldo’s Museo CR7, in Portugal); because, really – who wants to blend at Temple?
