This Saturday (December 11th), Simon Restaurant and Lounge at Palms Place is hosting a benefit for Communities in Schools of Southern Nevada.  An all ages event ($50/adults and $25/kids 12 and under), there will be fun and activities for everyone at this event geared toward giving greater exposure to a very deserving organization.

Since 2003, Communities in School of Southern Nevada (CISSN) has been hard at work, as the regional affiliate of Communities in Schools; an amazing national organization that has spent the past three decades preventing young people from dropping-out of school.

By making sure that the physical and medical needs of the students are met (i.e. nutritious food to eat, both at school and at home; regular visits from dentists and optometrists; safety; exposure to behavioral and mental health professionals; etc.), CISSN allows the young people of Southern Nevada to focus more on their studies and the activities that should be occupying their time.

Now, you can learn all about this fantastic group and what they do, all while enjoying the flavorful bounty offered at Simon.  And whether your tastes run toward a piping cup of Hot Cocoa and a heaping plate of Kerry’s famous Mac n’ Cheese Bites (mmmm…); or Sushi, Scones, Tea Sandwiches and a mulled and minty Mojito; you’re sure to find something that will tickle your palate.

CS 3

Partake of the festive Holiday music, or decorate a Gingerbread Cookie (or three).  And, don’t forget to have your photo taken with Santa..!

CISSN’s is a wonderful goal: Making sure that each child in our community has the chance to be successful in school and to achieve in life.  And really, that’s a gift that can be enjoyed, all year long.
