One of the great jazz vocalists of the 21st Century, Nicole Henry has headlined concerts across the country (Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco) and around the world (Madrid, Moscow, Paris, Shanghai, Tokyo), thrilling audiences with her stunning arrangements of a repertoire that includes standards from the American Songbook, jazz both classic and contemporary, popular covers, blues, and original works, alike.

Not only have three of her albums reached the Top 10 on the jazz charts for Billboard as well as HMV Japan; but in 2013, her recording of Bob Marley’s “Waiting in Vain” won Henry the Soul Train Award for Best Traditional Jazz Performance.

Now, following the brilliant notices she received for her role in the musical version of The Bodyguard, in 2019, Henry is bringing I Wanna Dance with Somebody—her theatrical concert tribute to the music and legacy of Whitney Houston—to Las Vegas, where she will be performing two shows on Saturday, November 20, inside Myron’s at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.

Don’t get it twisted: Henry is not a celebrity impersonator, nor is she a vocal impressionist. So, don’t expect to see her done up in Whitney Houston drag. Rather—as an artist who has received critical acclaim for her signature combination of impeccable phrasing, palpable emotional resonance, and dynamic vocal abilities made all the more potent for her genuine passion and charisma—Nicole Henry invites audiences to join her on a joyful journey of storytelling interwoven with the award-winning songs of one of the greatest voices in the history of contemporary music.

As Henry told me, "When I was a little girl, I dreamt of moments like this.  Now my 12-year-old inner self is absolutely fangirling over my Vegas debut! I can't wait!"

So, get your tickets, grab your friends, and c'mon down to Myron’s for an evening with Nicole Henry singing the songs of Whitney Houston. I’ll see y’all, there!
