Every now and again, a show and its venue will be perfectly aligned, and when that happens, it’s powerful, as it is with Dita Von Teese at Voltaire.  The move to Voltaire at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas—perhaps the most beautifully conceived and realized theatre-cum-cabaret venue on the Strip—is a welcome one, coming on the heels of Dita Las Vegas: A Jubilant Revue in the one-time Jubilee Theater at the former Bally’s Las Vegas.

The concept was a sentimental one, as Von Teese loves to tell about her regular pilgrimages to see Jubilee over the years.  Unfortunately, Jubilee is no more; the large theater that shared its name has grown long in the proverbial tooth, and Bally’s isn’t even Bally’s anymore (it’s now Horseshoe Las Vegas, which is great, but not the right property to host the dazzling Dita).

Voltaire—conceived by Michael Gruber (Chief Content Officer, The Venetian Resort Las Vegas) and designed by award-winning production designer Derek McLane (Moulin Rouge!)—is an intimate venue accommodating only 1,000 guests, which was designed to allow performers to stage more immersive productions, giving audiences a far more interactive, up-close-and-personal experience than in larger, more classically designed showrooms.

A keyhole-themed latter-day Art Deco dream—brass, chrome, and mirror elements dazzle among the velvet upholstery and rich palate of violet, mauve, and crimson, with transparent orbs suspended from the ceiling which are raised and lowered at intervals, evoking Champagne bubbles—Voltaire’s toujours glamour vibe makes it the ideal Las Vegas venue for the self-proclaimed ‘glamour evangelist’ and her spectacularly glam troupe of talented gender- and body-diverse dancers and acclaimed neo-burlesque artists, including the delightfully outrageous Dirty Martini (winner, Miss Exotic World 2004) and the hilariously campy and comely Jett Adore, to do-do that voodoo that they do so well.

The show—much of which is comprised of Von Teese’s existing acts from the past 24 years, as performed in her four full-length revues, including Strip, Strip, Hooray! (2013-2016), The Art of the Teese (2017), Dita Von Teese and the Copper Coupe (2018), and Glamonatrix (2019, 2022-2023)—was created by Von Teese and her longtime collaborator, Catherine D’Lish (winner, Miss Exotic World 1992 and Miss Exotic World 1994); with the lighting for the show developed by Von Teese’s lighting director of the past decade, Alex Goldberg.

And now, due to the incredible response by showgoers, as well as the delight of Dita and her troupe of performers with their opulent new venue, Dita Von Teese at Voltaire has been extended through Spring 2025, with shows on select weekends (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights) booked until May 11, 2025.

Says Von Teese, “I’m over the moon to announce even more dates for my residency in Las Vegas!  I LOVE performing in the breathtaking Voltaire theater...  I couldn’t have dreamed up a more glamorous home for this revue.  I’m also excited to feature a parade of authentic Las Vegas showgirl costumes created by Bob Mackie when the budgets for showgirl revues were endless!  Bringing my life’s work in burlesque together with a dazzling dose of Las Vegas history is something I’m very proud of.”
