HAIM first blipped on my radar, last spring, when blurbs about the band – comprised of sisters Este Haim (bass), Danielle Haim (lead vocals, lead guitar), and Alana Haim (rhythm guitar, keyboards, percussion); and Dash Hutton (drums) – appeared in such glossy magazines as PAPER, V, and Vanity Fair, accompanied by an image of the sisters that looked as though it had been inspired and styled by Hedi Slimane’s debut collection for Saint Laurent (SS13) – bohemian brunettes in black and white.  Knowing that the last time the glamour-press showed such love for a band, was nearly a decade ago, when the buzz was aimed toward Vampire Weekend, I decided to tune-in and take a listen.

Before you could say Sexy Jewish Sister-Rockers, I was hooked.  Then, I saw them play at last fall’s Life Is Beautiful festival, and found the sisters-three and their handsome drummer, Dash (son of Three Dog Night vocalist, Danny Hutton), to be charismatic, energetic, and utterly fantastic.

Of course, now – with their hit “Forever” (better known as the sound of Target’s seemingly omnipresent ‘Spring Styles’ television campaign) blasting from TVs, nationwide – everyone is a HAIM fan; and that’s wonderful.  Of course, this makes getting a decent seat at one of their concerts, increasingly difficult.

So, when my sister-in-law let me know that she’d booked a Wraparound Terrace Suite at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, for the night of HAIM’s concert at that property’s Boulevard Pool, and invited me to watch the concert from said terrace – I leapt at the opportunity.  (Well, maybe I didn’t leap; so much as I raised my eyebrows and nodded enthusiastically.)

The night of the concert, we had a blast.  We also enjoyed food from the hotel (their pizza is pretty great), and luxuriated on our sofas, partook of the drinks in the refrigerator, and relaxed knowing that we had two bathrooms reserved solely for us!

Way to go, Christy!  I had a great time, and look forward to doing it, again.
