Noted jewelry historian and author, Marion Fasel has co-authored such books as Hollywood Jewels and Bejeweled: Great Designers, Celebrity Style; and has been a contributing editor at InStyle, since 1996, when she ushered-in the magazine’s detailed coverage of fine-jewelry and timepieces.

Now, Fasel – along with luxury publisher Assouline – has completed another book; and just in time for the Year of the Snake, unveils BVLGARI Serpenti Collection.

The serpent has been one of the storied jewelry brand’s most recognized symbols, since 1940.  There are images of Serpenti’s A-list collectors, including uber-editrix Diana Vreeland, model Marisa Berenson, and the legendary Elizabeth Taylor.  One of my favorite parts of the oversized book are a pair of quotes by Taylor’s two-time husband, Richard Burton…  “I introduced Liz to beer; she introduced me to Bulgari,” and “The only Italian Elizabeth knows is Bulgari.”

So wiggle your collective asses over to the Bulgari boutique at CRYSTALS at City Center, Monday evening, from 5:30-7:30pm, and get into the Year of the Snake the way everything should be done – in a sparkling display of gioielliere from one of Italy’s most enduring houses.
