Origin stories are by their very nature, the stuff of legend; and even among origin stories, ONE DROP’s is pretty out there.  As the story goes, Cirque du Soleil founder, Guy Laliberté, was floating in space (as he does), gazing down at our planet, when he had an epiphany about water’s sustainability.  You see, Guy realized that water is a transformative force; that access to drinkable water is vital; and that communities need the ability to care for themselves.  And it was there, circling the globe, in Low Earth Orbit, at a speed of 17,000mph (give or take), that Guy Laliberte conceived ONE DROP’s mission.

Fast forward to 2013, and Guy decides it’s time to celebrate, in that signature Laliberterian way, by throwing the first One Night for ONE DROP.  Since then, over $24 million has been raised at these annual one-night-only performances, featuring performers from each of Cirque’s Las Vegas-based shows – and the evening has evolved into one of Las Vegas’ signature philanthropic events.  And as is befitting of such affairs, there is a luxurious auction component of the evening that accounts for a big part of the night’s haul.
