The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards, presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, was the goodtime party we’ve come to expect from this Moët & Chandon-sponsored affair.

Due in no small part to the levity brought by co-hosts, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the night was set to laughter. Following are some of the moments from the evening, that I found most amusing…

“Gravity is nominated for Best Film. It’s the story of how George Clooney would rather float-away into space and die, than spend one more minute with a woman his own age.” –Tina Fey

Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ portrayal of a big-time movie star, refusing to take a selfie with Reese Witherspoon.

“For his work in Dallas Buyer’s Club, Matthew McConaughey lost 45 pounds – or what actresses call ‘being in a movie’.” – Amy Poehler

“Yeah, Bitch!” – Aaron Paul, upon Breaking Bad winning TV Series - Drama

“Even the most deft pen is a clumsy tool, and yet we still try for magic – and thanks for letting me try, all over your movie.” Composer Alex Ebert, upon All Is Lost winning Original Score – Film

Amy Poehler’s portrayal of “Randy” – Tina Fey’s adult-son from a previous relationship (not with Idris Elba, but with Harvey Weinstein!).

“Immortality via art is no big deal. Francois Truffaut died. His films live on; but that’s not much help to Francois Truffaut.” – Diane Keaton quoting Woody Allen, upon accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award on her friend’s behalf

Finding-out that, on the set of Gravity, when Director Alfonso Cuarón told actress Sandra Bullock that he intended to give her an earpiece, she thought he’d said that he was going to give her herpes.

“I’d like to thank my wife and two kids – even the two-and-a-half year old (who is a nightmare). And, I almost went to med school, and I decided to do this. This is way better - Way Better - than saving a human life. Thank you.” – Producer Dan Goor, upon Brooklyn Nine-Nine winning TV Series - Comedy

“And now, like a supermodel’s vagina, let’s all give a warm welcome to Leonardo DiCaprio” – Tina Fey
