Back in 2000, at the turn of the millennium, Camille and Larry Ruvo, along with the Family McGill, decided to reintroduce the Glenbrook Rodeo – an annual affair, up Lake Tahoe-way, that had been all the rage from the early ‘40s until 1965 – as the Shakespeare Ranch Summer Social and Rodeo, hosted by Keep Memory Alive.

A weekend-long affair, the 2017 Summer Social begins on Friday, July 28th, with a real, honest-to-goodness rodeo, with such de rigueur rodeo highlights as bull-riding, bronco-riding, ribbon-roping, and barrel-racing; as well as carnival games, and a silent auction, filled with the sorts of luxury items, jewelry, sports memorabilia and travel packages that you’ve come to know and love from other KMA auctions.

Then, on Saturday, July 29th, guests are invited to tie-on their feedbags, for An Evening with Emeril; wherein celebrity chef, restaurateur, and author, Emeril Lagasse, is gonna kick things up a notch, by preparing a spectacular gourmet meal, full of his signature dishes, that’ll have you shaking a tail-feather, during a special concert performance by Motown legend, Smokey Robinson.

This not-to-be-missed weekend, as with all Keep Memory Alive events, supports the work of the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, in its research into degenerative brain disorders, and the pursuit of enhanced treatments.

So, if you’re looking for a weekend filled with food, folks and fun – with a philanthropic bent – then click on the link, below; and check-out the 2017 Shakespeare Ranch Summer Social and Rodeo.  Yee-Haw!
