A lovely weekend, in beautiful Glenbrook, on the shores of Lake Tahoe, served as an example of the very best hospitality; when Nicole Ruvo Falcone and Michael Falcone celebrated their marriage (and their gorgeous daughter, Angelia  - who steals whatever show she’s in), with friends and family, from across the country.

Nobody wants for anything at Camille and Larry Ruvo’s Shakespeare Ranch, and that tradition was underscored, this weekend.  Food was so good and in such abundance, that I was still full on Friday from dinner on Thursday!  My friend Thom casually mentioned that he was going to run and to grab a sweater from his car, and before you could say “Crackers-and-Change,” he was handed a denim shirt with the Shakespeare Ranch logo.  An absent-minded shaking of the ice in my glass would produce a waiter inquiring if I’d care for more (the answer was invariably “Yes, please!”).

The various events were designed to make the most of the rustic venue yet positively oozed with eleganza.  When a summer storm threatened to mar Saturday’s celebration, some choice words between the bride and Mother Nature was all it took to get those clouds to blow right over – but not before the gusting winds briefly made everyone look like they were featured in a Beyoncé video.

Chef Eric Klein (Spago) and the team from Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group prepared some of the most succulent lamb chops ever; while Angie “Nonie” Ruvo made some scrumptious cakes and cookies – the calories from which Great-Grandma Olga helped us burn-off, on the dance floor, to the sounds of BeBe Winans and DJ Tony Okungbowa (from The Ellen DeGeneres Show).

At the end of the weekend, the only thing approaching a complaint that I heard anyone utter was someone asking Grandma Maria Campbell, “Do we really have to go?”  Now, that’s the sign of a great party!
