I enjoy reporting on the good deeds of others; especially when those others are my friends.  Vicarious altruism?  Nah.  I’m just chummy with some folks who do some pretty cool things, and I’m proud of them.  Take Darin Feinstein and Larry Rudolph, for instance.  Darin, the owner of Red Mercury Entertainment (think: showroom productions including MJ Live, and World's Greatest Rock Show; and restaurants including El Dorado Cantina), and Larry - executive producer of Britney Spears’ record-shattering residency, Britney: Piece of Me, at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood – teamed-up with Caesars Entertainment, and launched Rock the Night for the Shade Tree.

On Wednesday, April 5th, after months of conferencing and collaboration, the trio of entertainment entities banded together to launch a reoccurring summer event benefiting The Shade Tree – the Southern Nevada shelter that provides critical support and safe refuge for women, children, and their pets; a companion event to the Shade Tree’s winter fundraiser, the Red Mercury-produced Annual Holiday Give Back (now in its fifth year).

Wednesday night, more than 350 members of the Shade Tree family – including residents, staff, board and family members, and friends – were treated to an all-expense paid night on the Strip that included dinner at Fatburger, followed by a live performance of Britney: Piece of Me, at The AXIS; as well as transportation throughout the evening, by privately chartered buses.

Still riding the high from such a wonderful evening, the Shade Tree’s executive director, Marlene Richter tells “The women at the shelter had a fabulous night out, filled with great food and music.  Britney’s performance was empowering and inspirational; just what the ladies need.”

With plans for 2018’s Rock the Night for the Shade Tree already underway, Richter thanked all involved, on behalf of everyone at the shelter.  “We all feel honored to have been a part of the first Rock the Night; and are so grateful to Darin, Larry, Caesars, and Britney.”

Well put, Marlene.  And like I said, they make me proud to be their friend.
