For the first time in as long as I can recall, the annual Flair for Care fashion show/luncheon benefiting the Nathan Adelson Hospice, is not being produced by Neiman Marcus.  But fret, not, my fine philanthropic friends!  Never one to rest on their laurels (let alone, anyone else’s), Wynn Las Vegas stepped into the fray, and (as the storied company is wont to do) has taken something that’s been good for a long time, applied a little of that old Wynn magic, and before you could say Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, has re-presented it as a fabulous happening, complete with a fashion show by none other than the glorious guru of glitter and gossamer, himself, Naeem Khan (who will be directing the show, in person – but more on that, later…).

Now, you just know that when the Wynn gets involved, they don’t pussyfoot around, but go the whole hog.  As a result, there are a trio of luxe-plus packages in the Buy It Now Auction; available to “Friends and Family” until January 10th, at which point, they’ll be available (at a higher price), to the general public.  Naturally, as a reader of ShulmanSays, you’re a Friend.  So, let’s check-out the first of these packages that have been generously donated, by Wynn’s luxury retail partners.

Few horologists are as storied as Jaeger-LeCoultre; inventers of the Millionomètre, the keyless watch, the super-slim Calibre 145, the Atmos, the Memovox, the Duoplan, and the famed Reverso – which was first produced in 1931 for polo players, who could “flip” the face around, to avoid having the crystal shattered during play.  As any watch aficionado will tell you, the Reverso (considered a classic design of the Art Deco period) is still produced to this day.

Now you can experience a romantic getaway for two, to Geneva, Switzerland, and visit Jaeger-LeCoultre’s famed Manufacture.  Valued at $24,000 (with up to $10,000 being applied to airfare), you’ll be flying in style; and you and your guest will be sleeping that way, too; for two nights at one of Geneva’s finest hotels.  With the majestic Swiss Alps providing the backdrop, you can enjoy Geneva and all it has to offer.

Your day will begin with breakfast at your hotel; after which, you’ll be transported via limousine, to the Manufacture.  Be welcomed at La Maison d’Antoine, and visit the technical offices for watchmaking and specialties.  The two of you will be taken to visit the gem setting facilities and where the famed Atmos clocks (since 1950, the official gift from the Swiss goverment to visiting luminaries) are constructed; followed by an intimate luncheon á deux, at the charming Hôtel des Horlogers

The afternoon will consist of visits to the various workshops for blanking, profile turning, cutting, pallet-lever assembly, and decoration.  Once that has concluded, you and your guest will be taken on a guided tour of the Heritage Gallery; followed by a presentation of Le Collection.  At 5pm, the two of you will be return by limousine to your hotel, to get ready for a luxurious dinner hosted by Jaeger-LeCoultre, at 8pm (and you just know they mean 8pm, sharp!  It’s Switzerland, after all…).

The fine print?  Not much.  This once-in-a-lifetime, behind-the-scenes peek into one of the bastions of Swiss horology is good for one year; and is subject to availability at the Manufacture.  Easy peasy!

Now the nitty gritty.  To avail yourself of this, or any item in the Buy It Now Auction, contact Stephanie Forbes, at Nathan Adelson Hospice, by clicking on the link, below, or calling (702) 938-3910.
