Diana Bennett is on a mission, to end childhood hunger, in Southern Nevada.  It’s a lofty goal, but one she has every intention of achieving.  And she’s willing to put her money where her mouth is.  As part of her support to the Three Square Food Bank, Bennett hosts and underwrites the annual Fashion for Three Square event, at her spectacular mountaintop aerie, high above the Las Vegas Valley.  The evening, featuring a fashion component by Neiman Marcus, is a benefit for Three Square’s Bag Childhood Hunger program.

This year’s highlight, was a fashion show, styled by Ken Downing (Neiman Marcus, SVP/Fashion Director) – and it was a glamtastic showing, indeed.  Models in feathered headpieces, wearing the finest ready-to-wear and accessories, walking, with an encompassing view of Las Vegas as the backdrop; it was pretty intense, and a spectacle in the best sense of the word.

Some of the city’s finest eateries, including Spago, Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill, Honey Salt, Chocolate & Spice Bakery, were joined by such upscale purveyors as Espresso Amore, Gimme Some Sugar, and Artisanal Foods.  All of it was scrumptious; but the one that really blew my skirt up, was the Iberico Ham station, by Artisanal Foods.  It’d have been a brow-raiser at any of the city’s finest establishments; but at an in-home event, it was a culinary wow-moment, to be sure.

By night’s end, more than 300 guests celebrated the raising of more than $2 million, for the Bag Childhood Hunger program.  That translates to upwards of six-million meals for Southern Nevada’s 130,000+ food-insecure children.  And that’s definitely something to chew on.
