There’s been a whole lot of talk going around about Britney Spears and whether or not she’s lip-syncing in her new Planet Hollywood show, Britney: Piece of Me. And while I don’t know anything conclusively, one way or the other; I know this – I HOPE she’s lip-syncing.

Now, many of you are probably wondering “Why on Earth would you hope the headliner is lip-syncing?” Well, I’m glad you asked.

First of all, if she is, it’s not as if she’s pulling a Milli Vanilli; and lip-syncing to someone else’s voice. It’s Britney, bitch! Period.

Second, this ain't Carnegie Hall: Miss Spears is serving Las Vegas Strip realness. She’s dancing, and spinning, and flipping, and twirling, and being hoisted upon peoples’ shoulders. I’m there for the full multi-sensory experience. What I’m not there for is to listen to her gasping for air and panting into her mic.

And what if she has a sore throat some Tuesday night? If I’m a fan who has just thrown-down some of my hard-earned ducats to fly to Las Vegas and see Britney Spears; would I rather she comes out and gives me my money’s worth, or cancels the show? Or worse still, goes on and rasps her way through the show, missing half the notes? I think the answer is pretty obvious.

Oh! And what about the show? It’s pretty amazing. The songs are her best. The choreography is excellent. The sets are mind-blowing. The theater has been completely renovated and tricked-out with some of the best lighting and sound, on the Strip. And, at the end of the day, the entertainment factor is off the charts.   Isn’t that what we should be focusing on?
