The inaugural Life is Beautiful Festival has taken Las Vegas by storm. The whole city is all atwitter; and as a result, it’s all over Twitter (and Facebook, and Instagram, and every other form of social media, you can think of…).

Now, thanks to the wherewithal of restaurateur Elizabeth Blau (Honey Salt, Buddy V’s Ristorante) and Chef Hubert Keller (Fleur and Burger Bar), Las Vegas’ philanthropic set is getting involved, as well; by way of a multi-course gourmet dinner – prepared by some of Las Vegas’ most acclaimed chefs, who were all too eager to answer Blau and Keller’s call-to-action, a call to Take A Stand.

Which chefs? Well, I’m glad you asked. In alphabetical order, the folks in the toques will include Akira Back (Yellowtail Japanese Restaurant & Lounge, and KUMI Japanese Restaurant + Bar), Paul Bartolotta (BARTOLOTTA Ristorante di Mare), Todd English (Olives and Todd English P.U.B.), the aforementioned Hubert Keller, Grant MacPherson (Wynn Resorts), Michael Mina (Michael Mina, Stripsteak, American Fish), Arturo Moscoso (Buddy V’s Ristorante), Francois Payard (Payard Patisserie & Bistro), Megan Romano (Chocolate & Spice Bakery), and Heather Zheng (Shibuya).

This multi-course gastronomic cavalcade is going to be a once in a lifetime experience; and as such, comes with a commensurate price tag ($5,000 per person). But lest you fear that these monies are going to line the festival promoter’s pockets – fear not; as the funds are being divvied-up between a pair of Las Vegas’ most well-liked charitable organizations, Three Square Food Bank and Communities In Schools of Nevada.

As a bonus (and part of the allure), Take A Stand is being held at a top-secret location. Of course, it’s not a secret to me, but a promise is a promise, so I’ll remain mum on the subject until that night. As a matter of fact, I’ve already dubbed the locale with a Shulmanized nickname – but you’ll have to pony-up the ducats to hear what it is. In the meantime, I’m confident in saying that nobody will be disappointed, and guests will be chomping at the bit to tell their respective friends, all about it, from their cars on the drive home.

Finally! An event where you can literally put your money where your mouth is, as you Take A Stand against hunger (Three Square), and for dropout prevention (CIS); all while enjoying the epicurean mastery of some of America’s finest chefs.
