[Continued from Part 2]

To finish off my busy day, bopping between Las Vegas’ luxury retail options; I dashed from the Strip to Summerlin, where I attended the unveiling of Restoration Hardware’s new 60,000 sq. ft. RH Las Vegas, The Gallery at Tivoli Village.  The affair was benefitting After-School All-Stars Las Vegas, and the event’s organizers had asked me to be on the Host Committee, so I was looking forward to it – I just wasn’t entirely sure what “it” was.

What I did know was that the event was being catered by Nobu (yes, please!), with fresh peach Bellinis, courtesy of Cipriani NYC (fancy…), and a selection of wines by Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley (not too shabby).  As I’d been at Wynn Las Vegas, for the Dior preview (see Part 2), I'd missed the start of the event; which worked-out beautifully, as I was able to walk right up to the door, gave my name to a lovely gentleman with a clipboard, and was escorted inside.  Did I forget to mention that 2,000 guests attended what I’d thought was going to be the opening of a furniture store?  Yeah.  Ooops.  Color me so surprised!

Ignorant to the world of RH, except very ephemerally, you coulda knocked me over with a noodle, when I pulled up to this curated lifestyle emporium.  At some point, while I was being escorted through various vignettes and “rooms,” on my way to the elevator that would deliver me to the rooftop garden, I started to get RH's whole deal.  I was soaking in it, Madge; and I dug it.

On the roof, I ran into the sultry Sophia Song, who’s shopping a Francis Bacon triptych, if you’re in the market for such things (because, as anyone will tell you - if you’re hankering for a triptych, Bacon's really the way to go.  Actually, bacon is always the way to go; but I digress…) and joined her and her friends, including a lovely, slightly familiar-looking couple, on a pair of sofas around a fire-pit.  Everybody made their introductions, but as I’d just arrived, I was only kind of paying attention – because it was a lot to take in.  Then, just as the couple was making their goodbyes, I realized that she was Amber Valletta; and we proceeded to laugh about the last we’d "met" (at Chateau Marmont, for W’s annual Golden Globes party).  At first I didn't think she'd remember me, and was just being polite; but apparently, when some random in a sequined turban inquires about and compliment the chainmail cocktail dress you’re wearing, it makes a lasting impression.  After this whole exchange, I sat back down, looked at a slightly confused Sophia, said “Amber Valletta," and shrugged.

So. Many. People.  And yet, because of the sheer size of the space (roughly 30 sq. ft per guest!), and the artful way in which it's been laid out, I could crane my necks and see that in one stylish nook, Andy Artusa and Miles Dickson were chatting with Amy Rossetti; while Alida and Evan Glusman caught-up with Top Golf’s Bryan O’Reilly in nearby cranny.  Over yonder, Vanessa and Benny Yerushalmi and some pals had taken over a loungey area by one of the bars.  XCYCLE’s Jen Barnet and mega-manager Larry Rudolph talked turkey with Abbie Friedman, on a landing; while Ryan Doherty perused the patio.  Susie Lee shared a joke with Judge Abbi Silver; as RH Chairman/CEO, Gary Friedman held court on the roof, with Aussie singer/songwriter Bella Hunter, and a rotating cast of folks that included Jenna and Michael Morton, Shanon and Bill McBeath, Heidi and David Strauss, Katie and Jonathan Fine, and the stunning Miss Susan Anton. (So pretty…)

Anyhoo, now I’ve gotta find some time to see this place, without all those pesky people.  Also, I’m dying to check-out that rooftop garden, in the daylight.  If they’re still serving drinks, I might just make a day of it!
