There’s a lot percolating, around town, in the first part of 2016; and the entertainment options are abundant!  As such, I’ve picked a half-dozen of the happenings about which I’m most excited, and am sharing them, with you, forthwith.

On Sunday, January 17th, TBS is running a 25-hour marathon of the new they-don’t-know-they’re-in-a-comedy comedy, Angie Tribeca.  The half-hour cop-show stars Rashida Jones; is being produced and directed by Nancy & Steve Carrel; and in addition to a stellar cast, features a K9 detective that nobody on the show acknowledges is a dog!  This last fact alone was enough to entice me to schedule my DVR to record the first nine episodes.

A few days later, on Wednesday, January 20th, Jennifer Lopez (“JenPez” to her pals) is beginning her All I Have residency show, at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.  Or, as the kids might say, #JLOxPHO is about to blow the roof off that joint!  Get ready for Jenny from the Block to serve sequins and spangles and all sorts of barely-there costumes.  Me?  I’m already looking forward to “Waiting for Tonight” on many nights to come!

A few days after that, on Saturday, January 23rd, world-renowned singer/actress/philanthropist Olivia Newton-John is being honored as “2016 Woman of the Year” when Wynn Las Vegas hosts Nevada Ballet Theatre’s 32nd annual Black & White Ball, sponsored by Cartier.  We’ve been “Hopelessly Devoted” to her for decades.  She got “Physical” and made us believe in “Magic”.  So, I think it's pretty safe to say that she’s the one that we want, because we honestly love her!

Other than my brother’s birthday, I’m not sure what’s happening in February – but I’m sure that it’s gonna be an action-packed month; and before we know it, it’ll be March, and Hakkasan Group will be unveiling JEWEL Nightclub, at Aria Las Vegas (but you can read more about that, in an upcoming article).

So, having skipped ahead a couple of months, we hop across the street to The Venetian, where, at the Venetian Theatre, on Saturday, March 23rd, the sexy siren of Cinecittà is going to make jaws drop lower than her signature chandelier earrings (while keeping her famous bosom lifted high), as the iconic Sophia Loren shares stories from more than five decades on the silver screen.  I don’t know exactly what An Evening with Sophia Loren will entail, and really, I don’t care.  What I do know, is that I am so there.

Rounding-out this round-up, we return to Wynn Las Vegas, for my birthday!  But, like most of you, I’ll be there celebrating the opening of Intrigue, the newest nightlife offering from #WynnSocial.  Occupying the space that was formerly Tryst (and was La Bête, before that), the venue will feature a club-within-a-club where the music format will be only vinyl, and where social media will be banned.  Look for some very special talent operating the ones-and-twos both in this inner-club and in the main room.  I know I will!
